Quick Breads: Easy Banana Bread Recipe
When you're looking for something quick, easy, and yummy to prepare as a breakfast treat you can never go wrong with a quick bread. A quick bread doesn't require yeast. Instead it uses other leaveners such as baking powder, sodium bicarbonate, or cream of tartar. Since you don't need to wait for dough to rise, you can easily whip one together.
I think that banana bread is probably everyone's favorite quick bread. It's seems to please everyone with its slightly sweet taste and moist texture. And who can resist the delicious smell of banana bread baking in the oven?
This is a no-fail recipe for a delicious banana bread that comes out perfect every time. I love it because it's not too sweet, though you can add chocolate chips if you want a special treat. I've also added walnuts to this recipe, which makes a delicious bread as well.
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar 1 Tbsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 2 med. mashed ripe bananas 1/3 cup milk 1/4 cup vegetable oil (or applesauce as a substitution) 1 egg Preheat oven to 350. Spray loaf pan with nonstick spray. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in med. bowl. Add remaining ingredients; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 60 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from oven to cooling rack. Yield: 1 loaf (12 servings)
Personally, I like to slather some cream cheese on a slice of this for breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. This is also a great addition to a brunch buffet. I've also wrapped up this bread and brought it along with a recipe and a greeting card when welcoming new neighbors to our street. And don't forget -- when making one loaf, why not make two and keep one in the freezer? That way you'll always have an extra loaf on-hand.

now this is just like my mom used to make. thank you. best yet mmmmmmmmmmmmm
i was a bit worried when i added in the wet ingredients (seemed too dry) but keep stirring, and this will turn out to be the best! thank you for posting this recipe!
Novice baker to say the LEAST! Had a few really super ripe naners hangin around and not a lot of ingredients to make a bread...I followed the recipe EXACTLY, except I used an 8 X 8 glass pyrex dish and reduced time to 45 min exactly.
It was nicely browned with nice "crust" and moist and yummy inside. More of a cake texture baking it this way! It was just enough sweet with no modifications in ingredients. Took it to work and it was gone almost immediately~ Thanks for an EASY awesome recipe!!!!
god bless you**********
I made this the other day. I added some chopped almonds too. Your recipe is great!! Thanks so much :-)
and you are so right. It was AMAZING with cream cheese!

Amazing bread! Our whole family loves it! Thanks!
This recipe is fantastic! Like a previous poster mentioned, I make it in an 8 x 8 glass baking dish so I can control the serving size when I slice it up. I also stir in some chocolate chips. It gets rave reviews each and every time - and from some pretty picky eaters too!
Thanks for a simple, yet wonderfully delicious recipe!!
This was delicious, moist and full of flavor!! My family ate the whole loaf in one day. I bought more bananas today :) This is now my "go to" recipe!

Had some over riped bananas and didn't want to throw away...OMG this was so easy and quick. The family loves it. This will be our after dinner dessert now. Thank you for this simple bread recipe.
Thanks for this very quick and very easy banana bread recipe! I no longer use shortening or veggie oil in my baking, so I was glad to see you can substitute applesauce in this recipe. The bread is in the oven right now- I can't wait to try it!
I think i'm gonna try this now and have it for brekky tomorrow! i only have 1 banana tho and am gonna use olive oil (its all i have!) will it work? lol!

Just took it out of the oven. Looks and smells great! Easy recipe to use!
Great recipe, thanks! Ran out of soda and needed a recipe that used powder. Didn't have high hopes but this turned out great!
Great easy recipe.. I added chopped walnuts. Instead, of making bread I made muffins and just baked until golden brown approximately 25 minutes at 350 degrees. My kids love them - Yum!!
This banana bread turned out awesome. It was easy to make and tastes great. I like to add different things each time i make it to spice it up and that makes it really fun.
I was out of baking soda and I came across your recipe. I made cupcakes using this recipe (only modification was adding one extra ripe banana)- they baked up in 20 min. I topped them with a peanut butter cream cheese frosting and they were AWESOME. Thanks!
came out great, going to add an extra banana next time.
I COULD BELEIVE IT, IT WAS SO DELICOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even came out good for me :-). DH refused to let me take it over to my parents house for a potluck dinner. Says he likes it too uh and afraid it won't be thesame the second time I make it
Excellent recipe!!!Have made it twice already. Also the 2nd time, I made it completely gluten free, substituted Rice and chick pea flour and added cinnamon and vanilla and pecan....Oh soooooo yummy!!!!!!!!!!
2nd review made with blueberries because I did not have nuts, and added whole weat flour!!! It was all gone the next morning
I love this recipe! I will be saving this in my recipe box. Don't second guess this one...try it! You'll love it too!
I loved making this. It was quick and easy. I added half tsp of ground cinnamon and tsp of vanilla. Turned out great!!
Great find, cooked also in a 8x8 pan and added white &chocolate chips, hubby loved them and asked me to bake more that next morning.
I use this recipe over and over.....it's the best!
Great recipe! Substituted one cup all-purpose flour for whole wheat flour and it turned out great. You have to sift the whole wheat flour to keep it light and take 5 - 10 minutes off the baking time to keep it moist.
So easy and very yummy!!
This was sooooo easy. I ran out of baking soda and i looked EVERYWHERE online for a recipe without baking soda and bananas. Yours was the only one that I could find.
My bananas where getting waaaaaay ripe so I had to make something.
This was not only EASY, but it taste soooooo good. i must be honest though, it taste more like cake then like bread.
This was absolutely wonderful! I didn't have any baking soda! first recipe I saw and it turned out perfect! Thank you for sharing. I added some pecan pieces, a little vanilla extract, and a tad of vinegar.
This is Yummy!. I doubled to make 8 mini loaves. To the doubled batter I added 1 t. pumpkin pie spice, 1 t. vanilla, 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips & substituted ginger beer for milk. The loaves were short but not dense. Next time I'll make 6 loaves if I use the same pans.
IT WAS SOOOO GOOD!!!!!!! Thanks! Thank you soo much! We all loved it. And it was really easy to make! Thanks again!
Thanks alot came out lovely, added a tsp of vanilla essence and 2 Tsp of sour milk and 1 more banana... it came out so huge and tasty....
Really good and super easy! I added vanilla and walnuts. It was a little too much batter for my loaf pan. The texture was a little more like cake, but it tastes wonderful. Thanks!
this is fantastic definately the best loaf ive made and the kids loved it couldnt get enough , thankyou heaps
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I have made it several times using different pans (loaf, square and round). Next time I will try using muffin pans. My husband even shared it with his soldiers at work and they enjoyed it as well eating multiple servings. Thanks again
I have been looking for an easy banana bread recipe and wasn't having any luck cause I was always out of something it called for, but I came across this recipe today and mixed everything together in 5 mins. its now baking and I cannot wait to try it. Just reading all the reviews I know its going to be delish. Thanks for your recipe!
Done several times and always fantastic. Couldnt be easier even easy with two kids running round your feet. Thanks
I love this banana bread; it came out really well.
Only thing is, not sure if it is my oven, but it has taken over an hour in a glass dish both times.
I sprinkled some cinnamon sugar and top and it was yummy!
Easy ingrediants, easy to make.....and tasted the best i ever had. Thanxs
loved the recipie!! I used it in a mini loaf pan that yields 6 loafs and baked for 32 min's.. Absolutely amazing. Family/co-workers loved them. also tried with chocolate chips and raisin mixed in what a hit.
This is the shit...make it for the roomies all the time
I used 1/2 tsp ginger, 1 tsp nutmeg and 1 tsp vanilla, and halved the sugar to make this and it came out excellent. 1/2 Cup sugar with two ripe bananas makes a sweet and nice bread.
Best ever delicous enough said
This bread is amazing. My brother was cutting off HUGE slabs of breads. It tastes amazing. I added blueberries and raspberries and they dried out inside the bread making a raisiny type thing that tasted delicious. I'm going to try making grape bread with this recipie next.
I didn't have baking powder so i accidentally used baking soda. Even so it turned out amazing. I don't know how it should taste but it was amazing
